Colorful, creative knitting designs for babies and kids!
If you haven’t found it yet, I’d like to introduce you to the sheer joy of knitting for kids. I discovered it myself about 10 years ago, when my friends, relatives and co-workers first started having babies. After years of making full-size sweaters in sedate, “grown-up” colors, my closet was littered with half-finished projects and I was bored. Imagine my excitement when I discovered how quickly baby patterns make up! I began by following the conventions of baby projects - fine yarns, pastel colors, fussy stitches, but that sure didn’t last long. Soon I was grabbing delicious shades of worsted and dk yarn and combining them with wild abandon and absolutely loving it! Knitting brings so many wonderful emotions -- the joy of giving a personalized gift, the peace that comes from those rythmic stitches, and, now, a wonderful outlet for creative play. Baby and children’s clothes open up creative possibilities in color and design that would never fly in the world of grown-ups.
